Green Dragon Partnership with Last Prisoner Project
Green Dragon Florida Dispensary is thrilled to announce our collaboration with the Last Prisoner Project through the empowering Stickers for Change program. As advocates for positive change, we are excited to introduce the "Free All Cannabis Prisoners" stickers, available at all 37 of our store locations. Priced at just $2 each, every sticker purchase contributes directly to the Last Prisoner Project, championing the cause to rectify the unjust incarceration of individuals associated with cannabis offenses.
Founded in 2019, the Last Prisoner Project is driven by the belief that no one should endure incarceration or suffer the collateral consequences of offenses that are now legal. This dedicated organization unites justice-impacted individuals, policy and education experts, and leaders in criminal justice and drug policy reform. Their mission is to end the fundamental injustice ingrained in America's cannabis prohibition and the War on Drugs, working tirelessly to free the tens of thousands of individuals still unjustly imprisoned and advocating for systemic reform.
How Last Prisoner Project Fights to Make an Impact
The project's policy team focuses on legislative initiatives to redress the harms caused by Policy:prohibition. They collaborate with stakeholders nationwide to pass bills providing release for individuals still incarcerated for now-legal activities and automatically clearing criminal convictions.
Legal: Through the Cannabis Justice Initiative in partnership with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Last Prisoner Project focuses on clemency initiatives, motions for compassionate release, and record relief.
Reentry: Resources are dedicated to ensuring individuals negatively impacted by the War on Drugs receive the financial support, tools, and resources needed to successfully rebuild their lives post-incarceration.
Advocacy: Last Prisoner Project raises public awareness through campaigns like letter writing drives, constituent storytelling, and direct actions, empowering supporters to join the fight for the freedom of affected communities.
