Terms like "Dank," "Blazed," and "Cotton mouth" are likely familiar to you, having been shared and circulated in your social circles. If you're relatively new to the cannabis lifestyle and come across an unfamiliar term from a friend, rest assured that it's part of the common terminology. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or a newcomer, prepare to enhance your weed slang proficiency. Take note, as these are expressions you may find to be valuable as you immerse yourself in the cannabis community:

Blazed:

Definition: The state of being incredibly high.

Example: "That bong rip got me so blazed that I couldn't stop laughing!"

Dank:

Definition: Used to describe high-quality, potent marijuana.

Example: "That B2B Everyday weed we got from Green Dragon Dispensary yesterday was super dank. Want to stop by and get some more for the weekend?”

Couch Lock:

Definition: The heavy, sedative feeling that makes it more challenging than not to get up off the couch after getting stoned.

Example: "I got major couch lock last night to the point where I couldn’t get up for what felt like 3 hours.”

Wake and Bake:

Definition: The act of getting "baked" shortly after waking up or getting out of bed.

Example: "For self-care Sunday, I always love to start it off with a good ol’ wake and bake sesh."

Stoner's Breakfast:

Definition: Similar to the act of 'Wake and Bake', this is a reference to the practice of smoking in the morning, as if it were a part of a nutritious breakfast.

Example: "My stoner’s breakfast consists of Fruity Cereal, a cup of coffee and a smoothie.”

Joint:

Definition: Essentially a cannabis cigarette, typically rolled with rolling papers and filled with ground up flower. There are also joints that can come infused with hash, live resin and/or coated with kief.

Example: "Did you hear that Green Dragon is offering a joint deal where you can get 5 for $20?!"

Munchies:

Definition: Intense craving sensations for food, especially snacks, after getting stoned.

Example: "My munchies were out of control last night. I ended up eating, what felt like, my entire pantry!”

Canna-sseur:

Definition: Someone with a deep knowledge and appreciation for cannabis in its entirety.

Example: "Green Dragon budtenders are so helpful - Some would even call them canna-sseurs.”

Ganj:

Definition: Weed slang for marijuana.

Example: "Have you tried the new Everyday ganj from Green Dragon Dispensary? It’s amazing!"

Hotbox:

Definition: Smoking weed in an enclosed area to maximize the concentration of cannabis smoke.

Example: "It’s so smokey in the living room, some would consider it a hotbox."

Roach:

Definition: The end of a smoked joint or blunt, often saved for later use.

Example: "I was cleaning my room and found a roach I left on top of my dresser - It was the best surprise ever."

Puff, Puff, Pass:

Definition: The unwritten rule of cannabis etiquette, emphasizing the importance of sharing the joint or blunt when in a smoke circle.

Example: "We had a great smoke circle going last night with a couple prerolls from Green Dragon Dispensary - Everyone kept the puff, puff, pass rotation steady, too!"

Cottonmouth:

Definition: That dry, sticky feeling in the mouth that often leads to increased thirst or munchies.

Example: "I have a serious case of the cotton mouth right now. Can I please have a glass of ice water?”
